What I Did Well

  • I made more improvements to the personal website and basically finished it.
  • I am mostly done with the Caliro website. I quite like how Claude made it look.
  • I went for a walk with my mom.

Where I Can Improve

  • I am not following through on my Taskratchet goal of swimming. It's admittedly too easy to cheat that system.
  • I am still eating too many potato chips...but maybe it's okay because I should soon be back in NYC where there's basically no junk food at my apartment.
  • I did not follow through on the action to create a metaminder habit for meditation.

One Action for Tomorrow

  • Complete reading and meditation earlier in the day. Create a system to make this happen.

What I Did Well

  • I made much progress on my personal website.
  • I completed three sessions on Focusmate.
  • I read the Motivational Interviewing book earlier in the day.

Where I Can Improve

  • I can work on going to bed earlier so I don't get sleepy during the day.
  • I can set metaminder goals on Beeminder for meditation and exercise.
  • I can go outside early in the day to get some sunlight.
  • Consider setting up a custom Beeminder habit to ensure you meditate earlier in the day.

One Action for Tomorrow

  • Set up a metaminder Beeminder habit for meditation.

What I Did Well

  • I swam for an hour.
  • I made much progress on organizing my finances.
  • I woke up early and did a Focusmate session at 9 AM. It seems the new Beeminder habit may be working as intended.

Where I Can Improve

  • It would be good to track my time some other way if I don't want to use Focusmate at a given moment.
  • I can get up earlier so I have time to meditate before my 9 AM Focusmate session.
  • I can eat less potato chips. I feel like it's too much and I'm worried about getting addicted.

One Action for Tomorrow

  • Find a different work tracking tool to use in addition to Focusmate.

What I Did Well

  • I continued working on and (hopefully) finished creating an automated Beeminder habit that will help me get up early in the morning.
  • I went for a run/walk with my mom.
  • I updated my internet blocker system so it's hopefully more robust.

Where I Can Improve

  • I can do Focusmate sessions earlier in the day.
  • I can do reading earlier in the day.
  • I can organize finances earlier in the day.

  • Get up early enough to complete your scheduled FocusMate session at 9 AM.

What I Did Well

  • I was persistent at trying to create a new system to help me go to bed on time.
  • I practiced swimming for an hour.
  • I spoke with my sponsor after a while.

Where I Can Improve

  • I did not do any reading today.
  • I did not make time for finance organizing.
  • I did not go to bed early.

  • Prioritize reading and a Focusmate session first.

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog, Gentle Velocity! 😊

My name is Aditya and I started this blog for two main reasons:

  1. I wanted to hold myself accountable in a public way to reach my goals!

  2. I wanted to cultivate a regular practice of writing and publishing things online. This blog is meant for short-form writing while I have another blog for long-form writing.

In addition to this daily logging habit, these are some of the tools I'm using to help me stay productive:

  • Beeminder
    • This service let's me track my habits and, if I don't keep up with them, I pay a financial penalty. You can see my dashboard here.
  • Boss as a Service
    • This is a new coaching service I am trying out.
  • Focusmate
    • This app matches you with other people to do time-boxed, focused, virtual co-working!
  • Fatebook
    • This site let's you practice making predictions. I think it will help me set more realistic goals for myself. I often find myself setting goals that are unrealistic. Here is one of my predictions.
